About Shannon (A work in progress ~ Philippians 1:6) I was born on Father's Day, June 1961 to Jim and Annette. My love and passion for music has always been a large part of my life; my talented father was a high school band, choir, and drama teacher and my incredible mother was always singing and playing her flute for my sister Melissa and me. The stereo was always on in our home, filling the air with music from artists ranging from Nat King Cole, Peter, Paul and Mary, to Tchaikovsky. I have very fond memories of singing to "My Name Is Barbra", by Barbra Streisand, "Mary Poppins", and my personal favorite, the "Sound of Music". I did take it pretty hard when my mother had to explain to me that I wasn't Julie Andrews! My performance debut in the 5th grade was in "Hello Dolly". I sang in the chorus of "Put On Your Sunday Clothes". I continued on through Jr. High (when I wished I was Karen Carpenter) and then into high school, participating in choir, band, and performing solos at church, school musicals, and weddings. After graduating from Bellingham high school (Go Red Raiders!), I finally quit having identity conflicts and went off to travel school to become the corporate travel agent extraordinaire! At age 20 I married, and soon there after was blessed with a son, Brad. I spent the following several years being a full-time working mom, devoting many hours to supporting him in Little League baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, and golf … I started attending Eastside Foursquare Church in 1991, participating on a worship team, choir and, in addition, performing solo in special music for weekend services, holiday programs and musicals… While participating in the choir I met Roger Treece, (the producer and arranger of "A Dream Is Born"), where he had directed for a season. A few years later I approached Roger to start on a road to improve on my vocal talents and received a little over a year of his instruction (OPEN UP! when you sing "eeee")… In December of 1999, "A Dream Is Born" started to be more than just a dream. After many thoughtful hours of prayer and that "little voice" in my head that wouldn't go away, I started the wheels in motion asking Roger to assist me in this adventure. Then after 2 years of more prayer, patience and perseverance, January 2001, that dream was born. "A Dream Is Born" was completed, released and celebrated on January 22, 2001. Currently I am involved with my local church on a worship team and do enjoy singing at local events. I have also had the privilege of singing the "National Anthem" at local venues such as Emerald Downs, The Seattle Super Sonics, Everett Silvertips and my favorite, as the "Panther Mom" at a Snohomish Panthers football home game Brad's senior year in high school. I would love take this opportunity to again say, thanks to all of my friends and family who continue to love and support me on my way! But most of all, thanks to my Lord Jesus, who gives me the strength, courage and the will to "dream the little dreams". (Philippians 4:13) Many Blessings! Shannon
